Priyanka Chopra as Mary Kom, the daughter of a poor farmer who loves boxing and lives in a small remote village in Manipur. Her father is against her choice of sport and her poor family is reeling under financial constraints. She finds a coach near to her village Narjit Singh (Sunil Thapa), a popular coach in the vicinity and he takes Mary on as a student. She meets Onler (Darshan Kumaar), a good-hearted football player.
Mary Kom wins three World Championships and then decides to get married. The inter-personal and intra-personal conflicts of a daring sports woman form the rest of the movie.
Mary Kom goes on to show the real life story of this sports star, which not many are aware of. The filmmaker has captured her indefatigable spirit beautifully but an incompatible narrative that seems too rushed to strike the right balance between her personal life and career has been a big ends up biting off more than it can chew.
Priyanka Chopra as delivered her career best performance in the movie but the telling up of the whole story has been end up messing the whole experience. Lack of hard work and depth on part of the team is revealed many a times. Onler who played the role of Kom husband as supported well for the move but Sunil Thapa as kom coach could not contribute best to the film and disappoints with his total lack of expressions. Priyanka has only done well in film and the actress has put her heart and soul into the role.
Final Word: Mary Kom Movie Review The film is worth seeing for Priyanka Chopra.
