Story :

The story is about a poor man named Akhil Lokhande ( Akshay Kumar) living in abject poverty, doing 4 jobs a day to earn money for his ailing father. Later he come to know that he is not the real son and come to know the truth that his father is a Bangkok’s diamond merchant Panna Lal Johri (Dalip Tahil) who has a 3000 crore property. To claim his property for had to compet with a dog name ' Entertainmemt' on whose name his dead father has willed his entire property and wealth.

Then begins the fight between Entertainment and Akhil for the property and who wins is not the story but how it concludes into a warm ending is what must be watched.

Analysis :

The presentation of the movie is very rich with well written dialogues. The screenplay and Cinematography are the main strength of the film even though the script was average. The three songs in the movie are well choreographer and worth seeing. In-order to suit the royalty the costumes where properly designed. Each and every one in the film contributed their best and Akshay Kumar delivers yet another cracker with his performance and apt comic timing.

Performance :

The movie is completely full of entertainment and fun and the fighting sequences between the dog and Akhil are very funny and interesting. In the first half an hour, the film still attempts to be enjoyable. Entertainment' came up with an energizing change with amazing dialogues. Akshay Kumar has performed the role with lot of passion and came up with a convincing performance. Johnny Lever and Mithun Chakraborthy have given good support to the movie. The melodrama in the second half has given a blast to the complete film.

Final Word: Entertainment Movie Review Akshay Kumar's gleaming comic timing made the film a good watch!

Bobby Jasoos known to be the second project of Born Free Entertainment, the joint production house by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha, after Love Breakups Zindagi. Regarding this project, Dia Mirza said in an interview, "The script of Bobby Jasoos bears testimony to the fact that being patient and investing in good stories usually reaps good dividends."

Now, coming to the Soundtrack, Shantanu Moitra roped in to compose the film score for Bobby Jasoos, while lyrics are penned by Swanand Kirkire. Singers Shreya Ghoshal and Papon were also reported to record a song for the film, which is also their first duet.Singer Aishwarya Nigam, fame of Munni Badnam hui, has also recorded a song. Singer Bonnie Chakraborty said in an interview that he has recorded a duet for the film with Shreya Ghoshal. Other popular singer who contributed to the film songs are Monali Thakur, Neeraj Shridhar.

Story

Bobby happens to be 30 year old, who qualifies as pretty much a burden on her family simply due to fact that she has chosen for herself an exceptional career. Bobby is a private detective who is neither qualified nor trained to be one.

Subsequent to being avoided deliberately by all, she takes a decision on opening her own firm. She is pretty much a flop at it till one day a rich man gives her big bucks to solve a case. It seems that Bobby gets tempted by money into a path of wicked action. Now, the point is whether Bobby would be able to clear her consciousness off it and justify it all in the right manner. This is what makes the movie mysterious!

Analysis :

The idea itself seemed straight out of McCall Smith’s detective series but wasn’t even remotely close to it in terms of flavor. To give Sanyukta Shaikh full credit, she keeps her story bubbly and original. Throughout the first half, it was completely involving narrative. It was a smartly trimmed tapestry of fun and mystery in equal measures. The pace was just about right and till interval the film seeps you in with terrific energy. But with the second half wrapping up into a complicated climax, the energetic look begins to fade away with the nimbleness of the story wearing out.

Having it as a reconsideration, it was getting sure the blame of it goes to the film’s cracked storyline. The statement won’t be incorrect if we say that the movie tries too much at one shot. If the focus remained on keeping intact the thrill, adding dashes of a refreshing romance, the film could have been far better.

The nuances of the script though which renders to its lead actress a great deal of power was lovable. The film opens with a couple making out and a maulvi clicking them while they are at it. The misrepresentations are perfectly toned and gives the story the rightful pitch that was expected of it. For a film of this vigor, the climax doesn’t do it any justice. It wasn’t unanticipated or out of the blue. Even though the lit up face of Vidya after finally establishing her bravery as a Jasoos makes it seem a little better, the problem lies alone with the way the mystery of the movie is wound up. It is done too easily, it is not unexpected and it is tad bit melodramatic for my taste. The reason of blaming it could be just my expectation.

Yet it would be going too far with it, to be more precise the film completely falls below my expectations. At one department, it was absolutely astonishing. The romantic track was quite par excellence. From that one scene in a dingy alley outside Tassavur’s house to the scene where Tassavur describes Bobby’s qualities to his father only to realize how similar Bobby is to the imagination he has of a perfect girl in his mind, are all perfect ones. As well as the non conclusive ending is a winner for me always. More than the disguises or Vidya, quite weird the love and warmth of Bobby’s chemistry with Tassavur worked!

Performance :

Vidya Balan is brilliant in her spirited performance. She revels in her role brilliantly and though some might presume that this is Kahaani Part 2, the contents of this is not even on the same plane as the Sujoy Ghosh marvel. Fiesty, fiery, fearsome and firm, she brings alive the character brilliantly on screen probably even elucidating it beyond its sketched contours. She is at her unquestionably charming best but the story doesn’t live up to her caliber.

Ali Fazal is another revelation. I guess he has hardly ever grabbed for himself an eye grabbing part but in this film despite a very overshadowing presence of Balan, the guy shines. He could have been used more but in an out and out woman centric film, his role gets ample bandwidth and Fazal uses it well.

Rajendra Gupta plays the stereotype without improvising his charcater at all. Surpriya Pathak isn’t anything like her Ramleela pinnacle. She has again settled for ordinary role and seems content with them. Tanvi Azmi gone meaningless in the film and so is Zarina Wahab.

Kiran Kumar is not sensational either. He doesn’t achieve something extraordinary with his role but is just passably good at what he does.

Arjan Bajwa is noticeable but his character lacks the required steady stay throughout the film. The association with the climax was pretty predictable and the needful mystery element doesn’t quite fit the bill.

Final Word: Bobby Jasoos Review  could have been a crisp, lucid and marvelous film but the extremely exciting emotional factor got the better out of the story. Plagued by an underwhelming second hour, sloppy editing and a conveniently done hurried climax, the film counts well only for Vidya’s ability to carry a film solely on her shoulders. Vidya's fancied cute chemistry wit Ali scores too. I would like to go with a 3.5 star for Bobby Jasoos.

The cold blooded murderer undergoes a stark transformation as love changes him completely. Just when the two were beginning to settle down into a happy, blissful married life, Aisha falls prey to a catastrophic event. Guru is lost without the love of his life and is determined to hunt down the culprit.

Guru does find the miscreant Rakesh (Riteish) but cannot understand the reason behind his psychopathic nature. The story revolves around whether Guru understand Rakesh’s motives behind killing Aisha? Does Guru manage to get even with Rakesh? And mostly does Guru return to his dark, sinister world or carry forward in Aisha’s path of uncorrupted living?

Analysis :

The film commences with the massive catastrophe which forms the pivot of the story. Interestingly Mohit adapts a smart reverse narration strategy this time, which works in favor of his film. Beginning with how a local Goa based Gangster Guru falls for the vivacious and visibly bubbly Shraddha, the film completely changes its tone in sudden outburst. Ranging from melancholy to anguish, pain and anger, the film’s characters exhibit boundless hues. When there is even an ounce of sympathy for a psychopathic killer, it is not hard to pin point that the filmmaker has done his job bang on.

Unlike the persistently grey films of Suri we have watched earlier, there is too much optimism, hope and love in this one. The romance between Guru and Aisha is probably not a novel one, involving the regular bad-guy-turns-good-for-the-girl staple but Tushar Hirannandani’s writing infuses a certain degree of freshness to their chemistry. She is a dying, growing richly abundant joke cracking, chatterbox with an unmissable shrill voice. He is preoccupied with depressing, murderous gangster. But something clicks. The backstory of Guru’s troubled past comes handy here as Aisha walks into his life like ‘sunshine’. At a cue Aisha tells Guru, that he never stopped being the 8 year old who witnessed his parents’ death. A special mention here goes to dialogue writer Milap Zaveri, who has penned down unusually tender lines that furthered the pull between its leads. He is certainly brilliant when not aggressive.

Distracting from the usual revenge dramas, the film’s narrative keeps the past and the present running parallel. The script is structured in such a way that at no point do these focus needlessly. While Aisha’s presence brought transformation in Guru into a different man altogether, the attack on her brings out the bloodthirsty cannibal in him. He is hungrily looking for the person who attacks who you know has no chance of getting away easy. The culprit, Rakesh is a character who will evoke pity. Facing great deal of adverse criticism at work from bosses to being the constant victim of an over-expecting wife’s nagging, the story captures Rakesh’s side to graphic detail.

The unpleasant portions of the film falls straight out of the strongly appealing plot of the movie. Yet nothing here is unwarranted. In the pre-climax scene, where Riteish is instigating Sidharth to kill him, the psychopath’s plea is so simple. He wants to die a hero in his wife’s eyes. All he wants is to hear ‘I love you’ from her! The aspirations of a man who kills at his capricious humor isn’t anything even close to lofty. The thoroughly disarranged psychopath wins in that one scene. The final fight sequence is high timbre drama and by the time the end credits roll down, it will be hard to refrain from being overwhelmed.

Performance :

Sidharth Malhotra catapults himself ahead of all the young actors around, raising himself above the league of actors he is associated with. It would be an understatement to say he is superlative. He is in fact far ahead than that. In one of the romantic songs, where a gangster is falling in love with a woman, the actor’s expressions are perfect. He stares at her with the perfection of being in confusion, puzzled and lost. He even gets to do an Amitabh Bachchan from Shehenshah and the angry young man look and feel is fantastic. Exhibiting each emotion from heartbreak to pain to anger with such faultless ease, Malhotra is completely enjoyable and phenomenal.

Riteish Deshmukh doesn’t remain far behind matching up to him. He is tremendously wicked and the plainness in his eyes have a haunting quality. He talks to his victims after he murders them, telling them about his nagging wife and about how much he loves her. There is no sexual attraction between him and his victims but Riteish does bring out on his face superbly the peace after a murder. He looks positively rejuvenated and very few would have been able to play this role with such perfection. Deshmukh invests himself completely to the skin of his character and he is every bit damn good!

Shraddha Kapoor talks too much in the film and that’s the most appropriate observation. Justifying her role with perfection she is way better than Aashiqui 2. She fits into her character very neatly and does a stellar job. Her chemistry accompanying Sidharth is dreamy and memorable. Shaking violently in her near death turmoil, Shraddha stole the scene and heightened the impact multitudinous.

Aamna Sharif makes a re-entry on the silver screens after a while and she still has the impromptu quality of delivering well. She is memorable and justifies the reason for Riteish’s pent up frustration.

Kamaal Rashid Khan makes for good comic relief and he even gets to use his iconic #2RsPpl phrase.

Final Word: Ek Villain Movie Review is an easygoing affair that breaks down the boundaries of regular thriller. Mohit Suri has raised the bar with this film that is fascinatingly shot and crisply edited. At 2 hours, 7 minutes, the film benefits from the inspired lucidity in writing and dialogues. But mostly, it is the not to be foreseen skin Sidharth and Riteish don in this film that pulls the carpet from under your feet.

The actors outstanding performances remain the movie’s most tempting bit and that's enough bright reason to watch it once again!

Ek Villain deserves a 4.5 for its intoxicating nature and the worth enough punch.
