Story :

Filmmaker Rajkumar Gupta's first two films such as thrillers "Aamir" and "No One Killed Jessica" resulted in making critics stand up and take notice. For his third one, Gupta decided to switch genres and make a comedy.

"Ghanchakkar", starring Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, is a way-out comedy involving a bank robbery, memory loss at the same time a loud Punjabi housewife. The director has attempted to highlight the ridiculousness of certain real human situations in this hard-headed urban comedy-thriller.

Sanjay Athray (Emraan) is a master safecracker who intend to retire from crime and therefore he takes a decision to team up with two criminals to commit one last robbery to make fast money. Sanjay is given the task of hiding the loot so that it could be divided into three shares. When two months later the accomplices return to collect their share of loot, Sanjay refuses to even recognize them. During the intervening time, Neetu Athray (Vidya), who is a kinky as well insane housewife brings into existence a peculiar situation for all three.

Analysis :

Ghanchakkar-review
Rajkumar Gupta who has previously made films like No One Killed Jessica as well as Aamir is known for his intelligence. To simply question what makes a thriller unflawed? It is when the audiences don’t suffer from a single dull moment. Unfortunately Ghanchakkar cannot boast of that. The script despite a refreshing angle lacks a thunderous value of thrillers. Yet, the most critical addition is the story’s treatment that is rare. The fall are the pace and how the writer drawing from a few interesting characters cannot maintain the momentum of his story.

During the second half, the film gets repetitive as well with the number of false alarms excelling, a preoccupied with depressing sense of monotonous will slip. Nevertheless, the beauty of the story is in its unexpectedness and hasty vagueness. Furthermore, it is worthy of praise that Gupta’s vision allows humor to glow minus odd gestures and postures. It is appreciable how the humor doesn’t run out. Characters like the local train passenger, who is menaced, doesn’t seem unnecessary, making it more humorous. Nevertheless, one would not completely satisfied with the film’s story that’s largely twisty yet begins to shift towards complicated in the end. One would arise with little doubtful about whether the climax managed to save the film’s grace at all, yet the overall package might work out well.

Performance :

Ghanchakkar-review
Emraan Hashmi, as the lazy husband who loves his TV more than his biwi is perfect. He gets every mood and emotion of his character right! From his helpless frustration at his inability to determined information to his guarded tendency of doubting everyone, Hashmi is flawless at the same time distinct in expression. Personal to go with my favorite from the film is when he plans his new bigger and better television with childlike exultant joy!
Accompanying the most unfashionable clothes, a offensively noisy Vidya Balan is first rate in her work. Her confidence exude slowly through the slides. Involving little effort the talented actress brings with simplicity the innumerable layers of Neetu’s character while her dazzling volume everytime she says ‘hain?!’ will crack you up and her perfect Punjabi diction unite firmly her facial appearance. Being the bahu who counterfeit her saas everytime she calls or as the wife who throws away her husband’s food into the dustbin simply due to the fact that he had the boldness to point out the less salt in the dish brings out her noisily jolly side. On the contrary, accompanied by equal perfection Balan delivers a brilliant scene where she beats up the stupidity for attacking her husband. Being in a lesser intense role this time, she gives an impossible-to-miss performance!

The supporting actors Namit Das and Rajesh Sharma have expression of praise brilliantly as a duo. Bringing in the correct trace of notorious element they would be maintain to keep you laughing while they bash up our hero! Going with a good sense of comic timing, the film works off mainly from their considerable amount of performances!

Final Word:Ghanchakkar Movie Review Rajkumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar undoubtedly is far from perfect. Yet it is both overpowering as well as challenging. Boldly making a unique film that refuses to enhance out ready made thriller, expect this one to shock emotionally your gray matter. The film’s performances are debauched, especially that of Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi. I would be going with 3 star out of 5 for Ghanchakkar. It could have been a better film yet it still impresses as a exciting at the same time engaging comic-suspense thriller.

Story :

First love is always special in everyone’s life, so is the story of Raanjhanaa. It is the tale of a Hindu boy Kundan (Dhanush) and his journey from a 13-year-old lover to a committed young man who stays by his childhood love till his last breathe. Varanasi holds a special place in Kundan’s heart and the reason is not only his childhood days but also the city that gave him Zoya (Sonam Kapoor).
Like every committed lover, Kundan used to peep at his love secretly, smiles whenever her memories come in, gets impatient in loneliness and waits eagerly for the D-day when he will propose her. But the young girl never takes him seriously. Life takes a harsh turn when they both grow older and Zoya moves to Delhi for further studies. But distance fails to dim love for Zoya in Kundan’s heart. Time passes by and Kundan waits for her love to comeback and one day she is back.
With Zoya back in Varanasi, Kundan’s world was filled with excitement as he was thinking of finally telling her how he felt. But his meeting with Zoya leaves him heartbroken. Zoya was in love and yes with another guy Akram (Abhay Deol) who was her college mate. Kundan’s heart breaks into millions of pieces when Zoya who meant the whole world for him asked for his help in marrying Akram. He was torn between his true feelings for Zoya and his heart’s pleas to help her get her true love because who could understand that pain better than him. He decides to help Zoya and now begins the tale of love, betrayal and redemption.

Analysis :

Raanjhanaa-review One could point out too many loopholes in the narrative. Yet before one could begin, there’s the most important part that a tad bit tauter execution could have done wonders to the film! The slashing wrists business was an ultimate spoiler for oneself! Slapping for fun and ‘consistent stalking’ being a quintessential element for dating was plain illogical. The second part of the film almost drowned under the undue weight of its slimly researched political aspect of the plot. Nevertheless, there were too many genuinely funny bits that will invariably crack you up! The analysis of ‘Bhai Tum Chor kaise Bane’ had me rolling. The film’s vision was unquestionably refreshing, but with the screenplay becoming increasingly jerky post interval shows the lack of smoothness in director’s translation of the script! I genuinely felt that I had slept off and woke up to find the story not making sense anymore, like it wasn’t even the same film at all.

Performance :

Raanjhanaa review Dhanush has in him the Superstar persona. He performs with clever and quenching mirth. With unmatched energy, the man does stand out solidly. Though his diction fails, the innocence in his work and the naivety he gets in Kunder is laudable.
Abhay Deol in his few minutes managed to do the most impressive job. His tantalizing dimples are indeed magical and as an actor he is indeed fascinating!
Swara Bhaskar and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub are mesmeric in the supporting roles and often exhaust Sonam and Dhanush’s act.
Naman Jain is unsurprisingly fulfilling in his few scenes, worthy of being mentioned.
Final Word: Raanjhanaa Movie Review Painted on a novel idea of unrequited love, packing it with a kinetic first half, the film’s buoyancy transforms into brittle in its second half. With a few mercurial performances from its supporting cast mostly Abhay Deol, it is the clumsy and lackadaisical show in the second half that makes the film plain facile. Had the film maintained its force, it could easily have been more spirited. However a sluggish screenplay and lurching script makes Raanjhanaa a half baked effort‬ and hence gets a 3.5 from me. It is exasperating to see how directors lack the perseverance to hold steady a film’s entertainment value till the end.
Raanjhanaa releases today, that's 21st June 2013

Daniel Radcliffe Gains The Victory Of Magical Reviews

Daniel Radcliffe gains the victory of magical reviews!

The former Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe known to have gained the victory of magical reviews for his latest stage role as a disabled Irish dreamer in Martin McDonagh's The Cripple of Inishmaan. Radcliffe plays the title role in a Michael Grandage-directed production of McDonagh's scandalous tragicomedy at London's Noel Coward Theatre.

First staged in 1996, the play is a disorderly dark take on Irish identity from the writer-director of plays inclusive of The Beauty Queen Of Leenane, as well as the movies In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths.

Daniel-Radcliffe3

Radcliffe stars as Billy, a 17-year-old orphan on a remote island in 1930s Ireland, who observes a fortune of escape from a life of boredom and mockery when an American film crew arrives on a neighbouring island to shoot the film Man Of Aran. The 23-year-old actor had to master the part's taxing physical demands, its emotional shifts as well as a strong Irish accent.

Furthermore, Michael Billington from The Guardian's said on Wednesday the performance proved that Radcliffe is a fine stage actor with a gift for playing social outsiders, while Times of London critic Libby Purves praised his still, melancholy intensity and resolve.
